The core idea
Gino Wickman wrote Traction because he kept seeing the same five frustrations across entrepreneurial companies: lack of control, people problems, profit problems, hitting the ceiling, and nothing working. EOS is the system that addresses all five, by giving the leadership team a shared language, a shared scorecard, and a shared 90-day rhythm.
The whole system rests on one weekly meeting: the Level 10. Every Monday morning, the leadership team gathers for 90 minutes, scores the business against a Scorecard, reviews the quarter's Rocks, reports headlines, runs the to-do list, and then, most importantly, spends most of the meeting on IDS: Identify, Discuss, Solve. Issues don't fester. They get solved at the root.
